Of Swimmer's Butts & Home-cooked Meals

It has been an interesting two days.

Yesterday
I went swimming at Hart House despite my better judgment. As a result, my pectoral muscles which have been aching since pilates on Wed were strained even further. I swam the last two laps with just one good arm, prompting HX to comment that I was akin to the “Dying Swan” in Les Trockaderos. As funny as that thought was, it wasn’t the most memorable incident at the pool yesterday. I erm… accidentally poked a swimmer’s butt when I was nearing the edge of the pool at one point. He was a fast swimmer and quite a way ahead of me. I didn’t expect to find him taking a break, with his behind towards me. I was doing the front-crawl so I couldn’t see ahead of me, and before I knew what was happening, my right hand prodded something that wasn’t quite as hard as the wall. My head came up immediately to meet his startled gaze. He accepted my apology and I dashed off as soon as I could to get away from the rather embarrasing situation. When I recounted the incident to my penguin friend who was hopping on one foot trying to get water out of her ear, her sympathetic response was,”Was it a tight butt?” … …

Amendment (at HX’s request):
HX complained that I didn’t complete the story, so here it is. HX: “Was it a tight butt?” Me (a little taken aback by the qtn):”Yes, it actually was. And he was kind of cute too if you want to know.”

Of course, that swimmer is still a far cry from my gorgeous hubby and his sexy butt *grin*.

Today
Wanting, Yuandong & I had our first home-cooked ‘family’ meal of the new semester. We had grilled beef, ham omelette and mixed vege & meatball soup. I cooked the soup, George Foreman grilled the beef and Wanting made the omelette (May I add that George Foreman is one cool kitchen tool!). It’s been so long since Wanting and I bustled in the kitchen chopping, dicing, mixing, cooking and all the while chatting…I’ve actually missed it!

We settled down for a nice lunch…I enjoyed my food while Yuandong and Wanting traded their legendary affectionate barbs (YD to WT in his big-bro-condescending to praise little sister voice:”You’re improving. The general standard is getting better.” WT in her big-bro why don’t you go and soak your head voice:”Why don’t you go _____”) Yes, it was a meal that warmed the heart as well as the gut *contented smile*.
