Don Quixote

Hui Jun managed to find and download the full balletic score of Ludwig Minkus’ Don Quixote. The mp3 lasts for 1:25:47!
I haven’t heard some of the themes for ages and ages… I used to have the Bolshoi Ballet performance on VHS which I watched over and over again when I was 5 or 6 yrs old. (AHH!! One of my favourite dance sequences was just played! 26:50) In my unlearned opinion, Don Quixote hardly has the ‘best’ score…that honour would have to belong to one of Tchaikovsky’s ballets, maybe The Nutcracker. But you’d be hard-pressed to find another ballet score with so many lively, rousing Spanish-styled dance numbers. Yep, I like it, like it, like it!!!! *skips off humming happily*
