The Ick Factor

They laminated a giant bumble bee,
They laminated a giant bumble bee,
It’s so disgusting, can’t you see,
They laminated a giant bumble bee.

Sometimes I think I’ve got to be the ‘luckiest’ person on earth.
What are the chances of a bee getting laminated into the back cover of an academic journal? And then out of the thousands of journals that are sent out to subscribers, what are the chances of being the lucky one that receives that bee-in-a-journal? I don’t know the odds, but I would think it should be slim to none. And yet, today, I received my first issue of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Education, with a giant bee squished into its back cover. It’s not just under the plastic wrap, mind you… ah, no. It is flattened, squished and laminated to the journal cover. So I’ll have to discard the back-cover entirely if I am to keep this issue… Anybody interested in an icky trophy? You’re more than welcome to it. (Was debating whether or not to actually put a picture of this on my blog. Somehow I didn’t think the ick factor would get through w/o it. So, it’s up here for a while…but I’m taking it off after a bit! Ewww *shudder*)

**** 6:37p.m. Took off the pic. Can’t bear to look at it anymore. :P If u want a pictorial, let me know and I can send it to u!
