This is a blog hat-trick today. But I just had to post something about my swimming session. It was a jungle out there. Limbs flailing, an ‘uncle’ attempting what seemed to be like a back-stroke butterfly, a swimmer in my lane who kicks/scratches/hits me everytime we pass each other, a guy in a diving suit who seemed to be practising free diving…he would disappear and swim at the floor of the pool and emerge at the opposite end of the pool. Huixuan and I stopped swimming to watch him a bit…so impressed were we.
It got interesting though, when the lane I was swimming in was left with just Huixuan & me. As I was swimming and Huixuan was swimming past me in the opposite direction, I felt something touch my foot. Knowing it was Huixuan and thinking it was probably accidental, I just continued swimming like nothing happened. After I turned and swam halfway in the opposite direction, however, I was suddenly halted by a palm on my head. I was so shocked that I stopped, came up for air and promptly banged my knee on the ledge. Huixuan was grinning at me.
Me: *rubbing the knee I just banged* “Yes?” (thinking there must be a good reason why I was halted so ‘ungently’)
Huixuan: *blinking cutely at me* “Hey! Did you realize I tickled your foot just now?”
Me:*incredulous* That’s why you stopped me?
Huixuan:*blinking even more cutely and a tad indignantly* Yah!
Ah yes… Huixuan has been threatening to tickle my foot during one of our swimming sessions…but never did I imagine that there was such a price to pay for not realizing it and reacting satisfactorily to her tickling. Such are the hazards of swimming with penguins…
