This entry is dedicated to the friend who skipped into my life out of the blue and lodged herself in my heart 15 years ago, and who has a tremendously difficult decision to make now. The Serenity Prayer has been quoted so often that it may seem like a cliché. But I quote it here because I hope that you will really take it to heart. Don’t sell yourself short. There was a time when you believed in yourself and what you could do. Have some faith in yourself now…not just to ‘make things right’ in one aspect, but that you have the strength to look this issue in its face and the courage to do the right thing. You owe it to yourself, girl. In order for you to have true hope for the future, you have to make sure you’re not dwelling in false hope.
GOD, grant me the serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change,
Courage to change the
things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference
Don’t stand by and let the things you can change become things that you cannot change, ok? Know that I’m behind you and praying for you all the way. :)
