It was a beautiful winter day yesterday. Soft snow falling (almost the entire day), practically no wind, and a decent enough temperature of about -3 deg. I met my moo-mate for lunch at the Arbor Room, and then, at her persuasion/suggestion, went along to Larkin in Trinity College. I’ve been there only once or twice before, years ago, at lunch hour when it was crammed with students. Yesterday was a totally different experience. It was pretty quiet. And the huge floor to ceiling glass panels on both sides of the room provided plenty of natural lighting, as well as a beautiful view of the snow falling outside. There were good sized tables and comfortable chairs for studying, and a comfortable lounge area with sofas. I ended up taking a rather long nap on one of the sofas *sheepish grin*. Yup, Larkin was pretty cool…but there were two major downsides to this pretty little haven. 1) A cup of hot water with honey costs at least 50cents! (25cents for the cup and 25cents per small packet of honey), 2) The toilet looks like the perfect setting for a high-school slasher-horror flick. It’s in the basement, with a huge, rather dark and empty locker area that you have to go through before reaching the stalls. I’ve never made such furtive and quick trips to the toilet before!
What is furtive? Eh, anyway my GRE test is over already, so why should I be so interested… Hmmm, pettifogging… Ha ha
