To A Certain Friend's Fiancé

I’m always a little surprised and flattered to find out about people who read my blog regularly that I didn’t know read my blog. Well, today, a dear friend of mine (whose birthday is coming up) commented to me that her fiancé is a regular visitor to my blog and wondered if I could er…help make a ‘plug’ of sorts regarding her upcoming birthday. Things of this sort are quite different from what I usually do, so I told her that I cannot pretend that this idea was purely from me. :P But since she is such a dear friend, and since I see no harm in being part of the ‘see if he reads it and tells me about it’ plot, here it is.

To choose the perfect birthday present for your beloved is quite a tricky thing. Above all, you must understand the person well. There is no ‘perfect present’ in abstract terms. What does she like? What’s a treasure for one woman may be a disappointment to another woman. But if you choose with love, and with your beloved’s taste in mind (not yours, but hers!), you will not be too far off from choosing the perfect present. And knowing how you love this friend of mine, I have no doubt that she will receive a gift that will make her happy. Oh and one more tip, which you probably already know… your sweetheart is somebody that thrives on compliments. With sincere praise and compliments, she becomes even sweeter, more loving, and more dedicated in everything she does, including making you happy! I’m sure, knowing how much she means to you, that you must think many wonderful things of her. Don’t forget to let her know it often, with words! I promise you that YOU will be the person to ultimately benefit from all the words of affirmation that you can give her. *wink*

As for the dear friend in question, after thinking about it, I have decided not to include the suggestion you gave me, because…it’s just not very me. :P And I wish to remind you, dear, although I know you already know this, that the giver is the real treasure…not the gift. Whatever he chooses for you, remember that it was chosen with love. Don’t put too much stock in presents, because such material things mean nothing without love, and your enthusiasm for them will soon diminish and maybe even disappear over time. Prize above all, the one who is giving you the gift…the man who has chosen to spend the rest of his life trying to make you the happiest woman in his life. THAT is your perfect gift…the gift of self that he gives you day after day. Treasure it, and never forget to let him know how much you appreciate him!

  1. Howdy this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have
to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding knowledge so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
