Today’s one of those days, where my energy level was practically zero. Maybe it’s a cumulative effect of lack of sleep (quite likely), but I ended up sleeping more during the day today than I have in months. Ah well, will try to break the bad sleep cycle.
Have begun more earnest discussions about next year’s wedding with Zibin and my mom. It’s never meant to be easy is it? Wedding planning is infamously frought with tension-mines. I’ve heard how parents who normally make very little demands suddenly have a string of unexpected requests come their children’s wedding day. Well, nothing too big has happened yet, though I confess I had no idea my maternal grandfather’s family is quite so large :P
I’m envious of Zibin. He’s having so much fun! He just told me that he and his friends will be staying over at Shunrong’s new flat again (2nd time this month!) this weekend…because renovations begin next week. There is no furniture, they sleep on the floor. They talk into the night, play play-station, and then play soccer the next day. He sounded so happy about it…and I haven’t had a sleep-over with my friends in ages! In fact, I don’t really foresee us having one anytime soon…with my friends in Singapore being married, and with babies and all… I actually don’t mind the fact that we can’t do this sort of thing anymore (though we always had so much fun when we did!). But hearing that Zibin’s doing it just makes me feel envious. *sniff* That said, I am always happy to hear of him having such good times with his friends. :)
Progress on work is precious little today. Decided to go to Gerstein at around 6p.m. today in the hopes that some fresh air and a change of environment might help. But no…though I didn’t fall asleep, my brain refused to kick into gear. Still, I managed to write about 1.5 page worth after 3 hours. So maybe it’s not a total loss.
On the way home, caught sight of a racoon clambering up the tree at the corner of Elm and Murray Sts. The furry little critter peered inquisitively at me while I took out my camera and it posed quite nicely too! The photo’s a little dark, but here it is:

Ah well… it’s near the end of the day. Here’s hoping tomorrow will be more productive than today! (As an aside, I think I will have to go and buy groceries soon…been too lazy to do so, and think we’re running out of even the basic ‘lazy food’ types such as ham, bread and cereal…)
Oh, and did another one of those blog-test thingees. The result made me think of my favourite time of day in Puerto Vallarta…so here it is:
| You Are Sunrise |
You enjoy living a slow, fulfilling life. You enjoy living every moment, no matter how ordinary. You are a person of reflection and meditation. You start and end every day by looking inward. Caring and giving, you enjoy making people happy. You’re often cooking for friends or buying them gifts. All in all, you know how to love life for what it is – not for how it should be. |

creepy. like an ewok gone wrong….
Anyway, wedding preps are fun for the most bit. Leave the work to Zibin and you’ll be fine.

Please don’t tell me you used the flash. Then again, for the eyes to glow like that, you must have.
You blinded a poor defenceless creature?!?!? How could you? Granted, the blindness was probably only temporary, but what if a predator jumped on it in those critical minutes?

The camera was in night mode. Of course there was flash. How else could I have done it? Infra-red mode? *wry look* You buy me a camera that has that function can?
But I promise, if I were to ever try and take a photo of a kiwi at night, I will *not* blind it with flash. Can?

AIYOH! zoom in and take it without the flash. ie: turn off night or auto mode! and then edit on photoshop. i’ve done it countless times, and in the process have avoided blinding any of these critters.
shdn’t u have some love for your fellow animals?

*sigh* Meow ah…what do you mean by ‘fellow animals’? Edit on photoshop? Siong leh. Can I send to you to edit, since I’m sure you’ll have extra time to kill being a tai tai in Boston? *grin*

i am NOT a tai tai! Grrrr… Unlike taitais, I have to live on a budget and get pocket money from my hubby (i kid you not, we go to the atm and then he hands me 20 bucks or 40 bucks for the week).
Anyway us homemakers are busy people ok. Gotta watch all those cooking and home reno show to learn how to upkeep the house and hubby’s tummy. Twice a week do community service at the tutoring centre and once in a while, go to class to put some academic information into my head. Oh, and did i mention, having to plan all the trips? My hubby just sits down and keys in his visa number at the end. I do all the work!
Fellow animals? Aren’t you a moo-moo? That racoon was just one of my fellow meows, albeit a bit fat and wild.
