I accept

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, and a time to refrain form embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;

A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate;
A time for war, and a time for peace.

God has put eternity into man’s mind, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
(Ecclesiastes 3:1-9, 11)

I can never understand you, Lord. But I know that I am called not to understand, but to accept and love you as you are. You don’t make it easy to be your disciple, but that is because you love me, and you’re chiselling away all that is keeping me from being fully one in you.

I commit myself to you anew, Lord Jesus. I am totally yours. I make an offering of all that is mine which you have given to me. I surrender all my relationships to you. I will gladly accept anything that you give me – help me to be joyful in receiving! I will let go of and offer up anything you wish to take from me – help me to be joyful in letting go!

Have mercy on me Lord, for I am a sinner. I have no love to give. I have no light to offer. Except in You.
