Some say love…

Just read a friend’s blog… and suddenly these lyrics from The Rose come to mind as something I’d like to share with her:

It’s the heart afraid of breaking that never learns to dance
It’s the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance
It’s the one who won’t be taken who cannot seem to give
and the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live

I hope you’ll dance, and truly live… it’s true it’s scary that we don’t know what the future holds in store for us. But there’s beauty, and joy and love in life if you take the chance to experience it.

  1. The 2nd verse of this song is more beautiful than the 1st verse. :P And more food for thought too. If I can bring myself to like the melody I’d actually download the piece. For now, I’ll content myself to simply reading the lyrics.

  2. Perhaps its a matter of perspective? I think the 1st verse conveys growth & courage but the 2nd verse reflects strength in adversity. But aside from being diplomatic, I also prefer the 2nd verse =)

    “…Just remember
In the winter far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the sun’s love
In the spring becomes the rose.”

  3. I like the last part best too :) Did you know that for a lot of flowering plants, it is only after they have been through harsh conditions that the seeds do germinate? Without these harsh conditions, they won’t germinate. :)
