It’s really true that you never stop learning new things. Having become a sort of ‘ah jie’ figure in Toronto whom most juniors expect to know a lot about UofT & T.O., it’s refreshing to learn new things from a freshman. For example, I never knew we could order a ‘part hot choc, part coffee’ from Timmies before HX told me about it a couple of weeks back. It turned out to be unexpectedly palatable for this non-coffee drinker. Then, today, we made another discovery… mixing the ‘part hot choc, part coffee’ with steeped tea with one part milk and one part sugar is surprisingly good! Yep, it’s less sweet and more milky than the part hot choc-part coffee combo and it’s lightly refreshing. But we figured it’s a drink that’s better self-mixed than ordered at the counter. It’s probably a little too demanding to tell the Timmies counter staff that we want a cup of “1/4 hot choc, 1/4 coffee and 1/2 steeped tea with milk and sugar”. :P
I was thinking about asking for this particular drink after reading your blog. I have now decided against it. In my mind, I can practically see the words “Ruination By Coffee” in flashing neon lights.
First, iced cappuccino, next part-hot-choc-part-coffee. Then comes less-hot-choc-more-coffee. After that, even-less-hot-choc-even-more-coffee, then finally the day will come when I’ll order a coffee-with-coffee!
That will never do. *shudders*

Hear hear! Ann, you are being seduced to the dark side by HX, and you’re taking us with you!
Nope, HM and I are turning back before it’s too late. Resist!
And don’t say that “Resistance is Futile”.

Ha ha ha….naaah…. I wouldn’t worry too much if I were you two. I don’t think I could ever get fully seduced to the ‘dark side’. Why do you think I prefer the steeped tea-hot choc-coffee mix? Cos it’s less coffee! And it really is refreshingly light *wink*. Zibin tried to convert me a long time ago but he has since realized it’s useless. I’ll always be a tea person. Coffee? Only in little bits, and preferably with lots of chocolate :P Hmm… you girls should try this triple mix next time and see for yourselves *sweet smile*.

What’s wrong with coffee? It’s just another beverage :) …. [although I suspect that an alcoholic would say the same of liquor … and tea drinkers with tea ^^)
