Zibin and I are lucky so far in our relationship. We quarrel very infrequently. Usually, we only cross swords when we’re both in a bad mood, and with his sweet temperament, that doesn’t happen often.
Earlier this morning, I was in a rather irritable mood. I could feel myself itching to pick a fight with him, and we came dangerously close because there were a couple of times I held myself back from saying something which I knew could trigger a battle.
So, a little later, during a lull in my rather irritable mood, I told him that I find myself in a rather ‘arms-up’ mood. And that I can feel myself wanting to pick a fight. I thought I should ‘warn’ him. A mischievious glint immediately came into his eyes and he grinned at me winsomely which immediately made me wary.
ZB:“So, you wanna pick a fight?”
Me:*petulant look*
ZB:*puts up his fists in boxing posture and then proceeds to poke me in the ribs*
Me:“OI!”
ZB:“Come on, hit me! I know you need to let it out. I will let you win one!” *another poke*
Me:*still motionless* *tries to look glum though trying not to smile*
ZB:“Wah wah wah. You’re storing up your power issit? Like in Streetfighter like that issit?” *proceeds to look very scared*
Me:*breaks into a helpless grin* (He really looked very comical!)
ZB:“Why are you grinning?”
Me:*suddenly thinks of something else related to my grin* “My grin very big hor? Can’t remember who, either Hui Jun or Hui Mei said I resemble the cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland.”
ZB:*laughs*
Me:*whiningly* “It’s not funny! That cat’s grin is damn creepy!”
ZB:*soothingly* “Aww. That’s alright. I love my cheshire cat!”
Me:*sighs*
It’s true you know, good communication between couples can work wonders. I think I should ‘warn’ him more in future when I’m approaching ‘danger zone’. And of course, a liberal dose of humour and affection in times like this doesn’t hurt either. :P

I should make a disclaimer. I still do not take too kindly to being compared with the cheshire cat. *sniff* So other than the people/person who orginally brought it to my attention and Zibin who has a blanket approval to calling me almost anything under the sun, don’t say I didn’t warn you if you find this ‘cat’ less than friendly should you tease me about this! :P

Ann, there are too many places I can arrow in this post; it’s not very nice of you to paint such a huge target on yourself then say that I “any which way also can shoot and hit target”.
Well, if you don’t consider being compared to a Cheshire cat complimentary, what about considering the comparision complementary instead? Complementing to what, I leave to your fine imagination. :)

This is one of those times where I’m glad I’m a looooong flight away, because I’m sure I’d be thumped otherwise. :D
