Remembering Heath

When Heath Ledger passed away earlier this year, I was saddened and shocked. He was a brilliant young actor who had so much to live for. And he was only my age.

I came across this video clip of the first movie I ever saw Heath Ledger in: 10 Things I Hate About You. It still is one of the smartest and sassiest modern retakes on Shakespeare ever in my opinion. This was my favourite scene in the film, and possibly the ‘coolest’ serenade I’ve ever seen. And as much as I loved Heath’s subdued and nuanced acting in Brokeback Mountain, it is his cheeky and romantic Patrick Verona in this scene that I’ll always remember him for.
