Last night hubby and I went to bed pretty late and we were very tired. As usual, Zibin fell asleep almost as soon as his head hit the pillow. I, on the other hand, had to drift off to sleep. Fortunately, Zibin wasn’t snoring (as sometimes he is wont to do when he is too tired) and so I didn’t take too long to fall asleep.
But. Just as I was crossing the threshold into unconscious dreamland, Zibin let out a sudden, very loud, and very vibrating snore. I was so startled, I got yanked from sleep right back into wakefulness. In my shock, my body involuntary jerked and my elbow collided with Zibin’s ribs which in turn startled him awake with a yelp. I had been about to complain to him about his snore waking me, but the expression on his face sent me into gales of laughter.
My hubby mumbled something in a sleepy yet accusatory tone and quickly sank back into sleep. It took me a while to stop my giggles, but at least I drifted off into sleep with a big grin on my face.
Life with him is really never boring. Not even in the split second before sleep! :D
hahaha this topic came up at dinner just now! my dad was recounting the time when my uncle’s friend, despite being warned by everyone, insisted he could sleep in the same room as my grandpa and granduncle who are champion snorers. Only to come downstairs in the middle of the night cuz he just could NOT fall asleep….
Ha ha yes I commiserate! My maternal grandma is a SUPER snorer. When I visit her in Jakarta I often sleep in her room and it’s really difficult to fall asleep! Ha ha.
