We often seek God to heal our wounds. But do we realise that our wounds also affect our ability to receive His love for us?
My clients often tell me, "Patience is not my strong suit." Guess what? Neither is it mine! I am probably temperamentally one of the least patient persons I know!
Often in the past when I speak to individuals who are deeply unhappy and frustrated with where they are (e.g. with work), they would justify remaining where they are because they "still feel called" by God to be there.
Have you ever felt shame for being "less spiritually mature" than you think you SHOULD be? I have. And not once has feeling ashamed about that helped me - until I brought that shame before God and let his love reveal the truth that He never expects me to be "further along" in my spiritual development than I am.
When I'm feeling anxious / afraid, how can I seek God's help without spiritually bypassing my difficult emotions?
Let it be done unto me according to Your will, for I know my deepest happiness is also your delight O Lord!
