Life is beautiful because God is creative in the ways He sends little ‘pick-me-ups’. Like having a friendly neighbour who sends her adorable daughter to my door bearing a plate of home-baked cookies and cupcakes. A good neighbour is a wonderful blessing.

Late night 'television'
Once, in reply to an observation that we had no TV in the master bedroom, the husband had cheekily replied, “We are each other’s TV.” Last night Zibin had a late meeting after his course ended so I attended Fr. Arro’s talk without him. Upon arriving home at 11:20p.m. and looking very tired, Zibin asked […]

An Aquarius' food follies with the Scorpios
Scene: Today’s breakfast at IMM Jurong… dim sum at food court… Zibin had painstakingly cut up a piece of fried carrot cake for himself. I didn’t see him do it… I was talking to my mom. I take the piece of carrot cake he had cut up and pop it in my mouth. Zibin: *eyes […]
Of babies galore and super moms
Beatrice gave birth to her first-born yesterday! A sweet little miniature of herself with lots and lots of really black hair. I held baby Clara for the first time this afternoon, and looking at her, I can’t help but marvel at how perfect she is, and how amazing God is! Then, through the magic of […]
Birthday sentiments
It’s a lovely thing that the only 2 people that have ever been described as my ‘other-half’ celebrate their birthdays one day after the other. Yesterday, my husband turned 30. Today, my former ‘partner-in-crime’ in the SNGS prefectorial board turns 29! Happy Birthday you lovable, crazy, corny loons! I feel so blessed that you are […]

The husband and I were chatting about anything and everything as is our custom, jumping in and out of topics… Me: Did you know that Ivy described me as a thorn in her side? ZB: Is it? Why? Me: I dunno… I guess because I always aggravate her or something. ZB: *chuckles* Me: It’s not […]
It's the little things
The husband played soccer at work today. And as he hurried into the bathroom to take a shower before we leave for the Alpha Course in church, he told me that he needs to return the soccer jersey tomorrow. That meant that we would have to start the washing machine before we leave home so […]
Reconnecting
It is difficult to describe the pleasure of reconnecting with a friend after several years and finding her happy and fulfilled. I had that rare treat yesterday when I met up with Suyan. Ours is a rather unique friendship in my book. We go back all the way to being classmates in Pri 4. We […]
The husband
The Popular phenomenon I’ve been heading to Popular bookstore quite frequently lately. A few of those times it’s with the hubby. What amuses me no end is that every time we walk into one, he – that is, my Stephen Chow loving husband – starts singing words associated with an entirely different Stephen (Schwartz). He […]
